Wow - I'd like to think you really don't believe all servers will copy down your information and go on shopping sprees, despite how it sounded!
Sure - everyone needs to keep an eye on their charges, but please don't assume we're all out to get you, okay? We're not!

prepaid cards are good for high risk transactions. i happen to work at a financial instution and we recommend them for members who travel to europe or buy from overseas websites. they are nice because they are not tied to your checking like debit cards and don't have a credit limit like a credit card.
We started using them when we got scammed 40,000 (our bank's loss on member cards) in Italy. We have turned off our credit and debit cards in many countries. Our bank has control over that. This is why sometimes you try to buy something and can not get your card to work. Your bank may not allow transactions to that country.

YOU SAID THEY CHARGED AIRLINE TICKETS? SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT DISCOVER THIS UNTIL NOV. 16. THE TICKETS WERE BOUGHT ON AUG. 3. I KNOW THIS IS MY FAULT, BANK CAN'T REALLY DO ANYTHING BECAUSE ITS BEEN OVER 60 DAYS. JUST SLOW TO CHECK STATEMENTS. THIS WAS DONE ON A DEBIT CARD. I WAS CHARGED $662.78 FOR SPIRIT AIRLINE TICKETS. I HAVE DISPUTED IT. AFTER READING COMMENTS (OR SHOULD I SAY COMPLAINTS) ABOUT SPIRIT AIRLINES I'M GOING TO PROBABLY HAVE TO EAT IT. DO I HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS TO GET MY MONEY BACK?

Identity fraud is one of the fastest growing crimes, here in the UK one major petrol station chain had gangs behind the counter skimming cards under the counter.
The money was used to fund terrorism, but thousands were affected, thankfully it was so widespread it was not hushed up.
We were victims ourselves, they had our address phone number but not our first names or Date of birth. Our credit card company picked up irregular spending when someone called Ikram "Smith" (the surnmame is not right but the first name is, ours is a British sounding surname) attempted to buy 5 mobile phones.
A few days later a catalouge company rang up with a similar order, but hubby clicked on they were probably the fraudsters themselves when they asked him for his D.O.B. flaming cheek. He told them to go forth and multiply, pointing out the card had already been cancelled and hoped they died a slow and painful death.
The Police here now say it is a matter for the banks, we had to sign a form from our creditcard company to say we had no knowledge of the transactions in question and not even a phone call from the Police, they have washed there hands of it.
I even have the address of one of the fraudsters who attempted to buy 2 pairs of shoes on the card we were sent a copy of the order, we quickly rang them and told them it was not an authorised transaction, but they did not seem to care. I have no idea what happened no on kept us informed, we were just sent another card.

Igloorx used my card fraudulently twice. The first time, I suspected it was them, and the second time, I made only one charge on my new VISA and it was with Igloo and again my card was used fraudulently. My bank caught it right away and will no longer authorize purchases from Igloorx.
I thankfully don't need to order medications online often but I joined this site to warn others about this pharmacy. Please be careful when using Igloorx and check your card online every day after you order with them.

I've had them get me for 10 grand. I was with BOFA and they simply credited my account back every cent and then sent me a form to fill out and send back.

FYI, if you eat at a restaurant where you physicially hand them your CC and they take it in back, BEWARE, they go back and copy it and then use it for whatever they can. Had this happen to my husband, went to a RED ROBIN, they took his card and the next day we had hotel charges, clothing charges, gas charges, all kinds of things. I was told they make copies that look like actual credit cards. Scary
After 13 years as a bartender, I have never done this or had a case of it done in one of my bars. Most of the ones I ever worked at didn't even have copy machines. And in order to pay for the tab, you have to physically hand them the card, no other way to run it. My guess is you've never worked in the service industry. Most employees in the service industry work very hard and for long hours with no breaks for less than half of minimum wage per hour relying on tips which are compensatory for providing service. Dishonest people are found in all walks of life. Sorry you had a bad experience, but to blatently say that about all servers and bartenders would do this is a bit discriminatory and biased.

It is an outrage that waiters, waitresses, and other service-sector employees have to pay taxes on the tips they earn. The IRS makes an estimate of how much service-sector workers will make in tips, and taxes them on it even if the taxpayer did not actually earn as much as the IRS' estimate!
Tips provide a substantial portion of the income of many service-sector employees, many of whom are young people just trying to make a few extra dollars to get through school, or single parents often balancing two jobs while trying to make enough to raise a family. This tax amounts to nothing more than the federal government punishing these employees for working hard and doing their jobs well.
I have introduced H.R. 3664 in Congress to end this problem. The Tax Free Tips Act of 2007 will exempt tips from federal income and payroll taxes. Ending taxes on tips will give workers an immediate pay raise, letting them keep more money to put toward things like a house or car payment, their retirement, or their own and/or their children's education.
When you give someone a tip, you should not have to simultaneously tip the federal government.
This is straight from Rom Paul's website. He was not born rich & worked his way through med school. He knows how hard most of us work for our $ & wants to let us keep it! What a novel idea.

I've just had this happen to me. I had Ģ500 taken out of my account. The transaction said tuxedomoney.com which is a prepay debit card (neither me nor my SO had ever heard of such a thing).I got the bank to cancel my debit card straightaway, but the visa disputes department told me that there'd been another attempt the following day, which was declined because I'd stopped the card.
I can't point the finger for certain, but I ordered from 3 IOPs recently, all reputable ones I found via this site. One I had used several times before but the other two were small trial orders.

ask your bank, and your credit card company (companies if you have more than one) to issue an email EVERY TIME A CHARGE IS MADE TO YOUR CARD, OR A DEBIT FROM YOUR BANK.
This is what I have done since my terrible experience, and it is the only way. Also investigate yourself by writing to the company where the fraud was made. You will be surprised that these people want to catch the crooks too. I was amazed by the diligence of an airline company in Germany who went out of their way to find these crooks and their investigation is still ongoing so I am totally confident they will find who used my card fraudulently.

Ok, today I was contacted by a CC company. Seems that someone got my card # and tried to order music and other stuff and one of the charges was showing up as somewhere in SPAIN. Now, I know for a fact that I used friendly clinic recently and I only used that CC for the order. So, I am POSITIVE that Friendly clinic or NetRXcc is responable for this. I am OUTRAGED. Luckily, the charges were caught immediatly and I was notified. But, it coulda been worse. So, I will no longer be doing ANY business with FC And...further more, I will be using a pre-paid CC from now on. I know it was stupid for me to use a regular CC, but that card has a very small limit on it, so I figured it would be ok. So, for all you FC customers...you might want to look at your accounts ASAP or call and have a new CC issued right away.

When I order from FC I make a Virtual CC with a $ Limit so that they cannot steal from me!!!....Something to think about in the future!!! It really Sux that this is happening!!! After making my first order with FC and getting their Daily Refill Reminder (Spam) and seeing my CC and Personal Info in each Email ....I freaked Out!!! I would guess that they have an Affiliate that is a THIEF. Whenever you order a Refill from FC... DO NOT DO IT From one of their Email Affiliates!!!!!....Instead Login to FC from your Browser .....NOT AN EMAIL LINK!!!.....I think if you do Both of the Suggestions I have Made Your CC Info cannot be Stolen!!!!!JMHO
